So it seems only fair to report that apparrently the same power outage affected the Bowshaw at the roundabout up the road. I think now I need to return to the C&H and do some further "research" in the interests of balance...wee beefyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16922755344809968104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-87120916463415542.post-21034278347145709692012-09-11T02:17:03.025+01:002012-09-11T02:17:03.025+01:00That's a very interesting point! Maybe its one of those electrical anomalies that its just too lengthy to explain when asked why they were shut Saturday, but its still most peculiar....wee beefyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16922755344809968104noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-87120916463415542.post-9609081393943397992012-09-11T01:58:16.616+01:002012-09-11T01:58:16.616+01:00The Coach didn't open at all on Saturday, hear...The Coach didn't open at all on Saturday, heard rumours about a power cut but when I went past the upstairs lights were onAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-87120916463415542.post-34908043711773013272012-09-10T13:26:00.190+01:002012-09-10T13:26:00.190+01:00It doesn't appear to have shut as in closed do...It doesn't appear to have shut as in closed down so as per my Twatter confession, it will no doubt be some tragic event that has befallen the pub, and I will become public enemy number 1!

Thanks for the bottle recommendations btw, will give both a try since I haven't sampled their wares before. And there could do with being more Raw beers, I agree. Hope it's not shut tonight when I intend to go in to deliver copies of "Beer Matters".

As to the White Swan, I love that place. The only gripe I have is that for a Raw pub they don't have enough of their own beers on.

As to the bottled exotica, I've seen a few people go for the Lion Stout in there. The bottled beer range is brilliant, but as it's summer and I'm not in any hurry to go onto the imperial stouts I'm going for the dutch beers right now. Rooie Dop Chica Americana IPA and De Molen Winterhop are both rather good. T_i_Bhttps://twitter.com/T_i_Bnoreply@blogger.com
